The dated unclean interior and the restaurant.

Dated, peeled wallpaper and warped doors - this hotel was built in the early 80s when the world fair came through and it feels every bit it's nearly thirty years.

Brand new king-sized bed was insanely comfortable. Great pillows. Walking distance to everything!

Our windows were dirty and it marred the sunset view from our window. Vending machines were out of bottled water.

Immediately upon check-in, I knew I'd be happy with our stay. The women at the front desk were very friendly and helpful, the lobby was bright and clean. The below-ground parking garage is a little dark and creepy, but parking is only $6/night (less than I expected). The hotel is in the process of renovation, so there's a weird juxtoposition of outdated and new decor. Our room had been renovated and it was bright and clean. Shower had great water pressure. The bed was only three weeks old and was by far the best hotel bed I've ever slept on! King-sized something-or-other-pedic with a variety of pillow softness to choose from, we slept like babies. We had a view of World's Fair Park and the art museum (with posters of huge eyes staring at us). My only complaint was that the windows were really dirty and it ruined our evening view. Cleaning staff was very available for extra towels, etc. We didn't eat, but we did drink at the bar. Staff was friendly and they mixed a good drink. I would absolutely stay here again. ...read more
